Pastor, Dr. Donnis McCoy
“Use me Lord for I am available to You” is a prayer Donnis often prays and through the power of the Holy Ghost, truly God has answered her prayers because she moves under an anointing that only comes from God!
Pastor Donnis McCoy was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga. She is the wife of Bishop Calvin McCoy Jr. Donnis, an only child who was raised by her mother Linda Calhoun, was born in Atlanta Georgia. She has a loving daughter named Amber and three grandsons who affectionately calls her Me-Me. At the time of Donnis’ birth she made the fifth generation of her family living, five being the number of grace. Donnis knows that it is God’s grace and favor operating in her life that has brought her this far. Therefore she cannot and will not boast in herself, but gives all praise to God because she is His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works (Romans 2:10). Donnis has been in church all of her life but it was not until her freshman year in college at Tuskegee University that she whole heartily accepted Christ as her personal saviour. It was then when God began to unfold his plans and purpose for her life. While in choir rehearsal one night the Spirit of God descended upon her and she began to sing with and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Everyone was shocked that “quiet” Donnis had opened up her mouth. Psalmist Donnis Calhoun has not stopped singing since. She has song background for countless artists such as Rev. Gerald Thompson, Rev. Shirley Caesar, Evangelist Dorothy Norwood, Judith McAllister, VaShawn Mitchell, Stephen Hurd and she also traveled for six years with the Grammy nominee Dottie Peoples. Donnis has performed in several theatrical plays. She was able to work with George Faison (The Choreographer of the Wiz & Porgy & Bess) in a play entitled “Keep the Faith”. As well as Debbie Allen in a play entitled “Soul Possessed”. One year after Donnis was saved God showed her in a vision that she would preach but due to setbacks, uncertainties, sin, etc… she pushed it out of her mind. In 1998 God began confirming the vision, as He began to impress upon her heart that, she would not only sing His praises, but she would preach His word and assured her this was truly His will for her life. For nine years Donnis sat under the covering of Pastor Jasper Williams Jr. of the Salem Bible Church in Atlanta. There she worked as an Accountant/ Bookkeeper, served as one of the Praise Team Leaders, was Co-Chair of the women’s ministry, and teacher of the Single Life Classes. It was June 25th 2000 that Rev. Williams licensed Donnis to preach the Gospel. God’s hand is still on Donnis. For the last fourteen years she has served in ministry under the covering of Pastor Anthony & Debbie Armstrong of Divine Deliverance Life Center. After the passing of her senior Pastor Anthony Armstrong in 2012 she was appointed as Assistant Pastor to help continue and further the vision given by God for the ministry. November 11, 2014 Donnis was married to Pastor Calvin McCoy Jr. Senior Pastor of Hope For Tomorrow Deliverance Center, where Donnis is now serving as Co-Pastor. God is the stabilizing force in her life; she’s a strength that bears, carries, presses and endures. She cannot be stopped she is the “East Wind.” Donnis demonstrates the authority of the gospel in the administration of the gifts of the holy spirit. She is a devil driver, soul healing, heart mending, life restoring power of God who becomes active in the lives of those she encounters. Donnis serves with excellence and integrity. She has touched many lives through her preaching and teaching, breakthrough prayers, prophetic worship, gift birthing workshops and leadership trainings. Donnis heart is that all are saved and come into the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Her passion is prayer and intercession and she has dedicated her life to raise up men and women who are passionate about entering into the presence of God, as well as operating in the power of God to invoke change in our churches, our homes and in our government. Donnis says “The Remnant are emerging in this hour and the Glory of the Lord is upon them. They know their God, they are strong and shall do exploits (Daniel 11:32). She boldly declares that this is the greatest time for the believer, for the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea” (Habakkuk 2:14). Donnis is referred to as the “East Wind and One of God’s Lethal Weapons”. She says she thanks God for the inner working and the outward working of the Holy Spirit. All Glory to God! |
